Impregnated Carbon is used to improve the action of activated carbon. It can be activated with selected chemicals. Impregnation of activated carbon provides the activated carbon some extra properties such as chemisorption properties which strengthens the adsorption or can result in bacteriostatic properties.  The benefits of this carbon include mercury exclusion from natural gas purification of waste odors, exclusion of chemicals, desulphurization of biogas, separation of mercury during the making of hydrogen gas, fume refinement in laboratory fume cabinets, removal of war gases, home water treatment in bacteriostatic water sieves and amines & ammoniac removal from air. Impregnated Carbon can be employed as the liquid phase applications as well as gas phase applications, as per the need.
